DAC Print Storage Collection

Wesleyan's print collection is one of the finest at an American university. The collection includes excellent impressions of works by DÜrer and Northern Italian Renaissance artists; Rembrandt and his contemporaries; Goya; nineteenth-century French painter-printmakers such as Manet and Millet; and American modern and contemporary artists, especially Jim Dine. Currently, classes can visit the collection but no more than 12 students at a time in an intensely cramped space.

Constructed in 2019, the collection now resides in the lower level of Olin Library, in the former microforms space. Moving the collection to Olin Library brought the material to the center of campus and adjacent the future print gallery planned between Olin Library and Public Affairs Center. The new space offers ample storage for the existing collection and future expansion, in a highly secure and climate controlled environment. The new 415 SF prep room and 615 SF classroom allows for larger class sizes, and 10 new secure vitrines comprised of 7 wall and 3 cabinet style units located in the main lower corridor, allow students, faculty, and staff an area to experience the collection through carefully curated dispalys.
